Mathematics
You鈥檒l master the language and methods of mathematics to solve problems in a variety of disciplines, opening up a wide range of opportunities after graduation.
Mathematics, the 鈥淨ueen of the Sciences,鈥 is the language of the sciences as well. Mathematics touches everything. Employers value the analytical skills that a math degree demonstrates, and a degree in mathematics from TCU will equip you to pursue almost any career, whether it be in finance, high tech, education or even law or medicine.
The Bachelor of Arts is our more basic liberal arts degree, appropriate for students seeking careers in both mathematical and non-mathematical industries. The BA also prepares students to become elementary and secondary mathematics teachers. Students earning the BA have the option of applying for TCU鈥檚 Master of Business Administration (MBA) program and the Department of Mathematics鈥 Master of Arts in Teaching (MAT) program.
The Bachelor of Science is the more demanding of our two undergraduate majors. This degree is appropriate for students planning to go on to graduate school in mathematics and related fields, and for anyone seeking a more challenging mathematical experience at TCU.
The Actuarial Science concentration is designed to prepare students for careers in insurance, risk analysis, pension management, financial planning and other related areas. The actuarial concentration can be combined with either the Bachelor of Arts (BA) or the Bachelor of Science (BS) in Mathematics.
