On Thursday, Nov. 9, Chancellor Victor J. Boschini, Jr. and the 茄子视频 Board of Trustees will host a ceremonial investiture for President Daniel W. Pullin, who assumed the role of president in February 2023. In recognition of long-held academic tradition, the reverent occasion serves to acknowledge the great responsibility of stewarding a timeless institution and a university legacy as well as commemorate the first year of Pullin鈥檚 presidency.  investure

鈥淭his moment serves as a time for us to gather as an academic community, to celebrate our pursuit of scholarship and knowledge, and to highlight a defining characteristic at TCU: our leadership,鈥 said Kathy Cavins-Tull, chair of the investiture committee.

In addition to the ceremonial significance, incoming presidents often use the event to share their vision. The opportunity serves to reaffirm the university's commitment to these ideals and sets the tone for the years to come. Already this year, President Pullin and Chancellor Boschini have emphasized the importance of innovation, inclusion and community engagement for TCU鈥檚 next 150 years.

鈥淚nvestitures are often referenced as a moment when the past, present and future of an institution converge,鈥 said Cavins-Tull. 鈥淚 can鈥檛 think of a more serendipitous time for that than in our Sesquicentennial year.鈥

Pullin was first announced as the new president in December 2022. He began his presidential tenure during a season of historic moments, as TCU began celebrating its 150th anniversary and looking ahead to the next 150 years.

Working closely with the chancellor and other senior leadership, Pullin infuses operational expertise and strategic planning with innovation to support the university鈥檚 growth, academic mission, vision and values. In addition to operational management, his executive leadership and experience will support and expand TCU鈥檚 focus on key goals, including academic excellence and reputation, student engagement and a culture of belonging.

This is the first president to serve under the current chancellor, but TCU has had several presidents in its history.
