Impacting students is what TCU faculty and staff do every day 鈥 through their time, talents and dedication. For those in a position to give, the Office of Loyalty Giving is asking faculty and staff to consider supporting students during the Faculty/Staff Annual Campaign.

This year, people and programs 鈥 including scholarships 鈥 are still a top priority, reflecting the ongoing needs of many students and their families.  TCU is proud to continue its commitment to supporting students and their families by prioritizing scholarships and academic programs. By designating a gift to TCU Student Scholarships, donors can make an immediate impact on deserving Horned Frogs like Clark Society Scholar Thien Ly Nguyen, a senior biology major and John V. Roach Honors College student from Fort Worth.

Some of Nguyen鈥檚 many leadership roles on campus and in the community include serving as a teacher鈥檚 assistant in Peer2Peer Tutoring, a Chancellor鈥檚 Host, a biology lab teaching assistant, a pre-health peer mentor and a neurobiology of aging research assistant. She is also the founder of the Epic Grant Community Project, which works with area high school students. Nguyen plans to continue to make a difference in the TCU community.

鈥淎fter graduation, I hope to attend medical school to pursue a career as a physician. My dream would be to go on medical missionary trips and then get involved in TCU鈥檚 medical school in any way that I can. I feel like TCU has equipped me with the tools to succeed wherever I go in life,鈥 she said. 鈥淚 am grateful for the support and encouragement that TCU has given me, truly making me feel at home here.鈥

In addition to helping keep a TCU education attainable for deserving students like Nguyen, annual gifts also fund innovative academic programs and initiatives and allow the university to attract and retain outstanding faculty and staff.

Annual gifts play a crucial role in ensuring that students like Thien Ly can attain a TCU education. These gifts have the power to fund innovative academic programs and initiatives, which can enrich the educational experience for all students. Additionally, they enable the university to attract and retain outstanding faculty and staff who are dedicated to providing the best possible education to TCU students.

The Beto Cruz Award is once again available as a designation to honor the memory of Jos茅 Alberto 鈥淏eto鈥 Cruz, a TCU Facilities employee and a valuable member of the campus community who passed away in January 2021 due to COVID-19 complications. Initiated in 2022 by the Faculty Senate, this award provides faculty and staff members with the opportunity to recognize 鈥 and express gratitude for 鈥 TCU Facilities employees, whose tireless dedication and service support our campus. The award is presented annually to a non-exempt TCU Facilities employee who exemplifies excellence of service and exceptional commitment to the TCU community.

The Faculty/Staff Annual Campaign runs April 2-30. . For questions, call the Office of Loyalty Giving at Ext. 7800.
